Crawford Nickel Project
An advanced pre-construction nickel sulphide mining project expected to produce more than 1.6 million tonnes of nickel over a 40-year mine life. The project will also produce chromium, cobalt, platinum group metals and iron. Potential to be a significant carbon capture facility capturing up to 1.5 Mtpa of CO 2 utilizing the ability of the tailings and waste rock to capture and sequester through the company’s proprietary IPT Carbonation process.

How BuildAtlas reads this record
Crawford is a major Ontario nickel development with a proposed processing pathway. It is useful to read alongside battery-material and manufacturing projects because the capability question is not extraction alone: it is whether processing, qualification, power, and downstream demand align.
What to keep in view
- Requires: critical mineral extraction, materials processing, engineering construction.
- Dependencies: industrial power, process engineering, transport and offtake.
- Open constraints: permitting and indigenous partnership, capital and financing, processing qualification.
What this page does not establish
A source-described stage, capital figure, or proposed capability is not the same as completed construction, committed financing, operating output, or guaranteed delivery. BuildAtlas keeps those distinctions visible.
